If you've lived in Abilene even a short amount of time, there's no doubt you've heard the name...Rudy "Fearless" Fernandez. Rudy has been a staple in country radio for almost four decades, manning the ship we call KEAN 105. "Fearless" now adds another accolade to his long list of achievements as one of the newest members of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.

As a co-worker and friend of Rudy's for 25 years, I can't tell you how proud I am of this man. Rudy, who is already a member of the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame, has dedicated his life to not only entertaining the masses but supporting our community. His involvement within Abilene and the Big Country is unrivaled.

Some of the crazier stunts Rudy has pulled off over the years include being buried alive in a coffin for 48 hours, riding a Ferris wheel for five consecutive days, living in a van suspended by a crane, and even being frozen in a block of ice. This man has done it all for the sake of charity.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen Rudy completely drop everything he is doing to go out and help others.

Rudy will be officially inducted, along with all of the other deserving honorees, on Saturday, November 4th in Kilgore, Texas.

Please join me in congratulating a true radio professional, friend, and now Texas Radio Hall of Famer, Rudy "Fearless" Fernandez.

You can catch Rudy every afternoon from 3-7pm on KEAN 105 and our Texas Red Dirt station, 92.5 The Ranch.

Enjoy some of these snapshots of Rudy over the years. If you have a photo with Rudy you would like to share, please do. We'd love to see them.
