Abilene Farmer’s Market Has Straight from the Farm Vegetables That A Lot of Us Grew Up On
The Abilene Farmer’s Market is back for another season of fresh vegetables. So, if you grew up on straight from the farm produce, then you have to check it out when it opens back up this weekend (May 10th).
When I was young, I remember my grandpa and grandma always grew their own fruits and veggies. They always planted everything from squash, tomatoes and jalapenos, to cantaloupe, watermelon and everything in between. I loved going out to the garden and picking off a tomato, and eat it right off the vine. Our meals always had some sort of fresh picked vegetable, fruit, or both. To me, it was what a good home cooked meal was all about – meat, taters, and fresh veggies.
So, whether you like tomatoes, squash, green beans, or any kind of vegetable, the Abilene Area Farmer’s Market located North 1st and Mesquite across from Frontier Texas, can get you hooked up. Starting May 10th, 2014, they will be open from 7 am-12pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
