The Toadies are rolling into Potosi Live tomorrow night, and if you’ve got a ticket… congratulations, you’re about to witness some straight-up Texas rock greatness at this sold-out show.

So naturally, I started digging through the archives, and man, I found a gem.

Back in 2014, I had the chance to talk with frontman Vaden Todd Lewis when the band was celebrating the 20th anniversary of their iconic album Rubberneck.

Yeah…that album is now sitting at around 32 years old. Let that sink in for a second.

When “Rubberneck” Was Turning 20

At the time, the band was out playing Rubberneck front to back on tour, which was a full-circle moment for a record that helped define ‘90s alternative rock.

And Vaden? Still the same dude, just with a few more miles on him.

One of my favorite moments from that interview was him talking about looking back at old photos from the recording days and basically saying, “Who’s that scrawny kid?” Now he’s just a “scrawny adult.”

That’s the kind of self-awareness that makes these guys so damn likable.

Yes… There Was A “Rubberneck” Beer

Because of course there was. The band even teamed up with Fort Worth brewery, Martin House (one of my favorite breweries), to create “Rubberneck Red,” dialing in the recipe themselves.

The Wild On-Stage Story You Forgot About

Vaden also shared one of the most “rock band” stories ever, talking about a moment where he literally got lost mid-performance and had this weird out-of-body experience on stage.

Which honestly… explains a lot about the energy these guys bring live.

Listen To The Interview Before The Show

I’ve embedded that full interview below. It’s not just an article promoting a show; it’s a time capsule of a band that helped shape Texas rock and is still out there doing it.

And tomorrow night? The Toadies will be bringing that same energy right here to Abilene.

Final Thought Before Toadies Rock Potosi Live

From Rubberneck in 1994 to tearing up stages in 2026, the Toadies never really left; they just kept evolving. And if history tells us anything…Tomorrow night (April 30th) at Potosi Live is going to get loud, weird, and absolutely unforgettable.
