The Painman Shares a Few Words About Our Veterans
November 11th is known as Veterans Day. In my opinion, every day should be Veterans Day, not in spirit, but in action. The sacrifices that our Veterans have made for the freedoms we enjoy deserve to be recognized each and every day.
Whether it's Veterans Day or any other day of the week, I really feel we should do a better job at thanking our military (past and present) for their service. Some serve in combat, some serve meals. Some secure our military installations, some secure records in an office.
Regardless of what their job may be, they're all equally important in my eyes. For they have sacrificed more than most can comprehend just so we can enjoy the freedoms we have today.
It's easy to take our day to day lives for granted and complain about the smallest of things. At the end of the day, what we have, we owe in large part to our Veterans.
Many go unrecognized. Heck, many go without food and shelter. It's time all of that changes. We must do a better job at taking care of our Veterans. We must do a better job at showing them our gratitude.
For we still live in the greatest country on this planet and that is thanks to our military.
Next time you see someone that has served (or is still serving), please go out of your way to at least say hi. You'd be amazed at what a simple smile and handshake (or hug) can do.
I could go on and on, but for the few that are still reading, I just want to express how much I appreciate our military (past and present). Thank you!
