Texas Social Energy Ranks Mid-Pack But We Still Know How to Party
It's common knowledge that most people in Texas have larger-than-life personalities but a new study suggests that the Lone Star State is not that charged up when it comes to social energy.
"Social Battery" Survey
The fine folks over at NapLab put together a state-by-state study on how much energy people have for socializing. They took the concept of "social batteries" and surveyed over 2200 residents about their social habits, introversion, and how often they have canceled plans.

How Much Energy Do Texans Really Have?
The results are a bit surprising as Texas is in the middle of the pack ranking 25 of the 44 states surveyed for a 50% social battery charge. The survey also suggests that even though we love a good shindig, social burnout is real and that one in three reasons Texans give for canceling plans is a lie. Say it ain't so!

Texans Love To Socialize Until They Don't
When it comes to those Friday night football games, BBQ cookouts, or throwing down one heck of a family reunion, we have plenty of energy. But we also like to become one with the couch and our excuses become as big as just about everything else here in the Lone Star State.
Why Isn't Texas Leading The Charge In Social Energy?
I have a few theories of why Texans just seemed to be drained socially. For one, it's hotter than a two-dollar pistol here. Two, have you seen how big the Lone Star State is? It takes half of a day to drive across the state. Then, there's the BBQ and other southern cuisine that seems to find its way into our bellies.
Regardless, I am a firm believer that while we may not show up as the most energized state in America when we do commit to something, we show up in full force.
