Perry Farrell to Release ‘Kind Heaven’ Solo LP in 2019
Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell is set to release his new solo album, Kind Heaven, in 2019. The singer makes the announcement in the wake of signing an exclusive worldwide deal with BMG.
Kind Heaven, which is also the title of Farrell's upcoming immersive theater experience in Las Vegas, will feature a host of notable guest musicians, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Dhani Harrison and many more.
“Every concept I’ve ever had began with music as its bedrock," Farrell says in a statement. "Jane's Addiction, Lollapalooza and now Kind Heaven. I am energized by my partnership with BMG and their commitment to my music, and to powering it with state of the art technology. Kind Heaven is mixed in Dolby Atmos, Binaurally, and, of course, in Stereo.”
To celebrate the singing and upcoming release, Farrell will debut his new band and music at a special concert at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco on December 2, headlining The Festival of Lights benefit in support of the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.
Earlier this year, Farrell announced the Kind Heaven theater experience set to launch in Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade sometime in 2019. Envisioning it as a sort of "new scene," Farrell describes Kind Heaven as something worth leaving the house to check out.
"As we know, [scenes] always are built around music," he said. "Youth counterculture goes out to experience nightlife, listen to music, dance, socialize and in the last 50 years, since I’ve been alive, it’s gone from rock and roll to hair metal to metal to alternative or punk rock, disco, EDM and now bottle service and now what cause I’m not going out of my house now. I don’t want to go and pay $2,000 for a bottle of vodka. It’s not interesting. But if you told me, 'Come out, you can walk around and you have a chance to experience for the course of two hours, or two days if you want, every square inch of that building which is thought with kindness, excitement in mind...'"
