Morrissey has turned down yet another lucrative offer to reunite his former band the Smiths for a headlining spot at the Coachella Festival, reports WENN.The Smiths, who are frequently the subject of comeback rumors, have twice before been asked to reunite at the annual gathering in Indio, Calif., but neither Moz nor guitarist Johnny Marr have expressed any interest.

In fact, hardcore vegetarian Morrissey was even promised meat-free festival grounds if the Smiths would headline Coachella 2010. Another longstanding rumor suggests that Morrissey and Marr turned down a massive $75 million offer to tour together in 2007, although the singer later said he was never officially approached.

But the recent offer from Coachella officials regarding the 2013 edition of the festival -- and Morrissey's rebuff -- does seem official, asba spokesman for the star says that “Morrissey has refused a Smiths headline offer for this year’s Coachella Festival.”

If the Smiths are merely holding out until they get an offer they can't refuse, the band obviously can refuse a lot. But it seems more likely that nobody will ever be able to get them back together onstage, no matter how large the windfall.
