Move over Ozzy Osbourne and that "ant snorting" anecdote, Iggy Pop's got a good one of his own. The shirtless wonder revealed during a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show that he once tried to smoke a spider web.

Speaking on the talk show about his wilder days, the Stooges icon was asked by Ross about a story of his sticking his tongue into an electric socket. Pop corrected the host, stating, “Well it was an electric train transformer,” before continuing his reflection, “I tried spider webs too. I tried to smoke them. You know you’ve got to start somewhere." Pop called the web smoking experience "harsh."

When asked if he's surprised he's survived this long, Pop responded, “No its brinksmanship," before elaborating, "My psychiatrist told me in the ’70s ‘you have amazing brinkmanship, you go to a certain place and you know when to pull back.' I always have and I’m a very conservative guy in my daily life. I go to bed early."

Pop has scaled back a bit in recent years, but he recently followed the critically acclaimed 2016 Post Pop Depression album with the newly released Free record, which arrived back in September. At present, Pop only has two dates on his tour schedule -- a Nov. 21 show at the EFG London Jazz Festival and March 6 at New York's Beacon Theatre.
