Here’s How You Can Watch Hawley and Albany State Championship Games
The Hawley Bearcats and the Albany Lions are down to their last game of the season, except with this game, it's for all the marbles. Both teams will play for the state championship in their respective divisions. If you're wanting to watch either game, here's how you can watch.
According to UIL Texas, you will be able to watch both games on Bally Sports.
Albany Lions
Albany will square off with the Mart Panthers tonight (Wednesday 14th) for the Class 2A Division II championship game at 7 pm on Bally Sports.
How They Got There
After starting the season 3-2, the Lions have won the last 10 games in a row to improve their record to 13-2. This will be the first time since 2015 that the Lions are in the finals. They were in the finals in 1991, 2009, 2014, and 2015. Albany will be looking for their first state championship win under longtime head coach, Denney Faith.
Hawley Bearcats
Hawley will kick off tomorrow morning at 11 am against Refugio which, again, you can watch on Bally Sports. (note: Why in the world they picked 11 am on a week day to play this game is beyond me...I digress)
How They Got There
Hawley got to the big dance by beating Crawford in Mineral Wells on Thursday night 34-20. The win keeps the Bearcats unbeaten on the season at 15-0. This will be the second year in a row for the Bearcats as they fell short last year to Shiner in the state championship game. After that loss, Hawley has been blowing teams out left and right and definitely deserves a shot at the state championship trophy.
Good luck to Hawley and Albany in their fight for the state championship!
