As Texas high school football playoff action continues this week, the Wylie Bulldogs, Hawley Bearcats, Cisco Loboes and Albany Lions all look to extend their season and make it to the state championship.

I hope all three Abilene area teams make it to the big dance, but if I were to guess which one will get to hoist that championship trophy up in victorious fashion, I would probably pick the Hawley Bearcats although they have a super tough matchup against the Cisco Loboes. Should be a great game tonight.

Here's a closer look at the 4 teams still in it to win it.

Hawley Bearcats

The Bearcats have had a stellar year, going undefeated in 2022 so far. In fact, they are not just winning football games, they are absolutely blowing teams out. They are averaging over 40 points a game. In fact, they have outscored their opponents 584-146. That's outstanding. They will take on the Cisco Loboes this Friday night at 7 pm at Abilene Christian University.

Wylie Bulldogs

The Bulldogs haven't played in December in 6 years. In fact,  Wylie is in the regional finals of Class 5A Division II playoffs for the first time ever. They are 10-3 and will be looking to advance when they play Argyle at Tarleton State University this Friday at 7 pm.

Albany Lions

The Lions are 11-2-1 this season. Much like Hawley, they have been stomping teams all season outscoring them 566-165. Incredible. The Lions will play Collinsville in Mineral Wells this Friday night at 7.

Cisco Loboes

The Loboes are having a great year with an 11-2 record so far. They are outscoring their opponents 498-184 proving they are a force to be reckoned with. It should be a great matchup against the undefeated Hawley Bearcats this Friday night in Abilene at ACU.

Good luck to the Lions, Bearcats, Loboes, and Bulldogs this Friday night. In a perfect world, all would advance to the state finals.
