Lufkin Scavenger Hunt: What Happened With The Marijuana Eggs?

Police in Lufkin, Texas, are asking folks to be on the lookout for a man they say hid marijuana in Easter Eggs, then held a social media scavenger hunt. Peter Cottontail would disapprove.

Sticky Icky Easter Egg Hunt

According to a press release, the Lufkin Police Department was tipped off about a Facebook account that was holding a scavenger hunt for plastic Easter eggs filled with marijuana that were hidden in a park.

The suspect posted four photos on Facebook showing each location as hints to locate the eggs," the department said. He even shared a photo showing five plastic eggs sitting on a car seat.

Officers were able to find four of the five eggs, with the fifth egg discovered by a man and his granddaughter.

Investigators say they linked Avante Nicholson to the Easter egg stunt by digging through his Facebook posts, where he not only bragged about selling drugs but also offered special hints to anyone who made a purchase during the scavenger hunt.

While many folks feel that marijuana should be legal and that adults should have the right to make their own choices, hiding weed in public parks where kids can easily find it is not cool at all.

First, I don't understand why anyone would want to give away free weed. Seems like a really bad profit margin. Plus, you don't know what else it could be laced with. These days, you just never know.

Perhaps that is a valid argument for legalizing it so that it is regulated and kept safe. You know, sort of like alcohol that causes more death and destruction than just about anything out there.
