Like a kid with my nose stuck to the window, I have been watching the activity going on next door to our radio station. We’ve known for a while that a restaurant is being built, but today was different, because the signs finally went up and revealed what kind of restaurant it will be. It’s the Cattle Baron Cafe’ and as the name implies it is all about the beef.

Co-owner Doug Brown said, “The menu is still being perfected, but for the most part, we will serve 10 different kinds of all beef burgers, a Ribeye steak that’s out of this world, pulled pork and an awesome chicken fried steak”. “We will serve beer and wine, as for hard liquor it is off the menu for now.”, Brown said.

Their hours of operation will be 11am till 9pm Monday through Thursday and 11am till 11pm Friday and Saturday. Located next door to the Townsquare Media radio stations at 3905 South First, they are expecting to open by the first of June. Brown said, “My partner, Eddie Harrison, and I just got our certificate of occupancy earlier today and we got the rest of our leather booths too, so we are about to be open”. What I thought was cool was watching the guys hang the new sign over the old ‘Saddle and Sirloin’ sign. Doug gave me a tour of the place and I was surprised to see the old Saddle and Sirloin round booths still in there. I can’t wait to try the food, I’ll keep you posted.
