Wylie Little League All-Star Teams to Play for State Title This Weekend in Abilene
We're just a year removed from Wylie's appearance in the Little League World Series and the team is poised to make another big run, but first - the state tournament.
The 12-year-old all-star team punched their ticket to the Texas West State Tournament with a 7-5 win over Waco Midway in the finale of the division tournament last week.
The 10 and under all-star team also solidified their trip to the state tournament with a 5-4 win over Fort Worth University in the Section 2 championship game.
Even better, the Texas West State Tournament will be played right here in Abilene, at the fields by Kirby Lake. That means home-field advantage for both teams and should also mean packed stands of people screaming for our Wylie kids.

The 10 and under team will be playing their last ball of the season as the state tournament is the final one of the year. However, the 12-year-old team can make a return trip to the Southwest Region Tournament by capturing the state crown this weekend.
The Southwest Region Tournament will take place in Waco from August 4th - 9th.
