Move Over Texas Because You Could Be Breaking The Law If You Hog The Left Lane
There are many things that Texas drivers do that may get under your skin. But one thing that grinds my gears is when someone uses the left lane but goes slower than everybody else. Not only is it annoying, but it could be breaking the law and you could get a fine.
It happens way too often on the roads in Texas. You're cruising along the highway to get to your destination and there is a car riding the fast lane and holding up traffic.

In fact, it happened to me this morning as I was coming down 83/84 in Abilene on my way to work. This dude just wanted to camp in the left lane and drive under the speed limit as several cars lined up in frustration.
This driving behavior is not only annoying, but because you are impeding traffic by doing this, the law frowns upon it.
Texas Slowpoke Law
According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), you could face a $200 fine with the Texas Slow Poke Law. The law states that the left lane on multiple-lane highways is for passing only.
Still, folks in Texas like to live on the edge I guess, and continue to frustrate drivers daily. If you're one of those people, please stop. Move over.
