Texas Has the Largest Land-Based Fireworks Show in America
The fourth of July is just around the corner and Americans are gearing up for fireworks shows and other events to celebrate our country's independence.
The Abilene area is home to some really impressive fireworks shows, but the largest land-based fireworks show is a bit further south of us.
What city in Texas has the largest land-based fireworks show in the United States?
According to Travel Channel, Houston is known to have the largest land-based fireworks show in America with its Freedom Over Texas celebration.
Houston proves that everything is bigger in Texas with the country's largest land-based fireworks show. The annual Freedom Over Texas Fourth of July celebration features six hours of family activities and entertainment, followed by a firework show perfectly choreographed to music. [Travel Channel]
The same website stated that the Freedom Over Texas show is also one of the "best fireworks displays in the U.S.". So I'd say it's a safe bet to plan a trip to the Bayou City if you're wanting to take in a spectacle of a fireworks show.
Locally, there are quite a few Independence Day celebrations, including the Freedom Fest and Clyde's Festival by the Lake, both of which draw people from all over the country.
Fingers crossed that Mother Nature doesn't get in the way of this year's festivities, especially here in West Texas.
