We're shocked and saddened to report that Wayne Static has died at the age of 48.

Wayne Static is taking his solo band back on the road for a co-headlining tour with Powerman 5000.

Wayne Static and Smile Empty Soul will join a solid lineup of bands taking part in the 2014 'Civil Unrest Tour.' The trek, which gets underway in May, is rounded out by Otep, Dope and Thira, making for an impressive night of hard rock glory.

After it was announced earlier this year that Wayne Static would be playing Static-X's 1999 debut album 'Wisconsin Death Trip' on a 2014 tour, the dates and venues have now been unveiled (see below).

Wayne Static is coming back to town and will be playing the entire album, Wisconsin Death Trip, that put Static-X on the map. This is the 15th anniversary of the evil disco album. Joining Static on this tour will be We Are The Riot, which features Meegs and Mikal from Coal Chamber.

The life and times of Static-X frontman Wayne Static have been bizarre lately. That may not surprise too many people who are familiar with the 'Dragonball Z'-haired nu-metaller, but between his feud with former Static-X bassist Tony Campos, being pressed with felony drug charges, hernia surgery, suicidal thoughts and much more, Static's life has been turbulent in all the wrong ways.
