Something dill-icious is brewing in Abilene, Texas, and it’s got locals in a serious pickle, in the best way possible.

A Festival That’s a Big Dill

Abilene, brace your brine-loving hearts, the inaugural Primal Pickle Fest is coming to Primal Brewing Company on Friday, Nov. 14 (National Pickle Day) and Saturday, Nov. 15. This isn’t just some half-sour get-together; it’s two full days of pickle-fueled mayhem, beer, and community pride.

As someone who’s eaten pickles on peanut butter sandwiches (don’t knock it till you try it), I can confirm, this is my Super Bowl.

Friday: National Pickle Day Shenanigans

Kicking off at 5 p.m., Rollin’ Woodfired Pizza rolls in with their legendary pickle pizza. Then it’s game on with a pickle eating contest at 6:30 p.m. — winner scores a custom Primal mug and a free year in the Mug Club.

Feeling brave? The pickle juice chug-off at 8:30 p.m. will test your salt tolerance (and possibly your gag reflex). Wrap up the night with Pickle Trivia, where even your briniest facts could win you glory.

Saturday: Vendors, Competitions & Pickle Glory

Saturday brings a Vendor Fair at noon, with artisans, foodies, and all things dill. Then at 3 p.m., the pickle competition begins, home and pro picklers go jar-to-jar for the chance to have their creation featured in a special keg of What’s the Big Dill? pickle beer.

Why You’ll Relish It

From the Primal Pickle Hunt to limited-edition beers and contests, this event is set to become a new Abilene tradition. Get all the juicy details (and vendor signup info) here.
