As fall approaches in Texas, The Weekend Buzz toasts the season with some Octoberfest brews from Saint Arnold Brewing Company and Karbach Brewing Company.

As the temperatures begin to fall after another brutal summer in Texas, the leaves will fall soon, and the air will become crisp for the perfect setup to enjoy one of the season’s most cherished traditions - Octoberfest.

What Is Octoberfest?

First, it's important to understand why we celebrate Octoberfest, even here in the States. The two-week festival in Germany, which started in 1810, celebrates the Bavarian culture with food and beer, attracting over six million national and international visitors. Now other cities across the globe celebrate this beer-loving event with mass quantities of Octoberfest beers.

Saint Arnold Brewing Company is the oldest brewery in Texas. Founded in 1994, this brewery has a very impressive stable of beers ranging from IPAs and ales to lagers and specialty beers including their Octoberfest beer. This malty brew has a slight sweetness to it and a crisp and refreshing finish perfect for the cooler fall temperatures.

Karbach Brewing Company's "Karbachtober Fest" is a Bavarian-style Marzen, decoction mashed with Vienna and Munich malts, cold fermented and aged for six weeks. This bad boy is a perfect match with all those pretzels and sausage you'll be consuming.

We'll crack open both of these Octoberfest beers which will be available at an upcoming event which we'll talk about with our special guest Richard Gutierrez.

So join us for another round of The Weekend Buzz as we bring in the weekend the only way we know how...with beer.
