The Weekend Buzz is back in action in Texas, and we’re bringing in the weekend the only way we know how…with beer in hand and zero regrets. This week, I will crack open the brand-new Lone River Lemonade Splash pack, and let me tell you, it’s got “Texas summer” written all over it.

What Is The Weekend Buzz?

If you're new around here, The Weekend Buzz is my not-so-scientific-but-totally-essential taste-test series where I dive into brews, seltzers, spirits, and whatever else is cold and fizzy. Yes, it's a hard job. No, I’m not looking for sympathy. I’m just here doing important work, you know, beer research for the people.

So what’s in the cooler this week? Lone River Lemonade Splash, a variety pack bursting with four refreshing, citrusy flavors:

  • Original Lemonade
  • Strawberry Lemonade
  • Blackberry Lemonade
  • Peach Lemonade

Each one is brewed for hot summer days, backyard barbecues, and front porch hangs. The flavors are light, easy to drink, not too sweet, not too sour. They clock in at 4.5% ABV, so you can sip a few without falling into a sun-soaked stupor.

Perfect For The Texas Heat

Texas doesn’t play around when it comes to summer. With triple digits creeping up, these crisp and fruity lemonades are a public service. They're a solid alternative to heavy beers when you're just trying to stay cool and crush something light.

Pro tip: Toss a few cans in the freezer for a half hour before you crack them open. Thank me later.

Where To Find These Texas Thirst Quenchers

Lone River Lemonade Splash is available in a variety of 12-packs across most Texas grocery and liquor stores. If you’re already a fan of Lone River Ranch Water, this lemonade twist will be right up your alley.

The Weekend Buzz is a pre-recorded show that airs every Friday from 3-7 on Rock 108, brought to you by our buddies over at Ben E. Keith Beverages, who,o along with Townsquare Media, remind you to enjoy responsibly.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
