You’ve heard of the term, “Gold digger.” No were not talking about mining and panning. And no we’re not talking about UTEP’s dance team, The Gold Diggers. We’re talking about marrying and inheriting and apparently there’s a new report from a divorce-coaching company that just revealed which states are home to the most gold diggers and Texas….. We’re on that list. YIKES!
Researchers analyzed everything from the concentration of millionaires and billionaires to average wages and cost of living. Then they factored in online searches for spicy phrases like “sugar daddy,” “sugar baby,” and “marry rich.” (So yes, your Google history may have betrayed you.)

Top 5 “Gold Digger” States:
- Florida
- Nevada (because what happens in Vegas apparently… gets added to your joint bank account)
- Texas
- California
- New York
States with the LEAST amount of Gold Diggers
Meanwhile, states like Vermont, Nebraska, and Montana are keeping it real, no prenup required.
So if you’re looking for love that comes with a side of a trust fund, maybe start swiping in Florida, Nevada or Texas. But if you want someone who’s definitely in it for your personality, Vermont is the place to be.
