Dallas, Texas is still waiting for it's team to return to the Super Bowl. Even as a casual observer, you can see the team needs a major overhaul.

It's Been Awhile

I interviewed comedian Anjela Johnson-Reyes the other day.  If the name doesn't ring a bell, she was one of the first viral superstars with her portrayal of Bon Qui Qui on Mad T.V.  If you didn't know, she started her career as an Oakland Raiders cheerleader, and was at the Super Bowl in 2003. The Cowboys last appearance was in 1996. Yes, she was in the Super Bowl since the Cowboys made an appearance. I found this to be very funny.

Fan Reaction

What is not funny, is Cowboys choking on their Dr. Peppers when reading what quarterback Dak Prescott had to say about his team. He said the Cowboys were "Very close" to winning a Super Bowl of their own, and "It's our turn, it's on us". Ummm..did anyone tell Dak that the team just fired their coach? That is not a sign that all is well. The new coach could be gods gift to football and it will probably be a couple of years before everything has gelled.

Motivational Thinking

I'm all about positive thought. I've seen and experience some real "mind over matter" moments and situations, but this is professional team sports and the other guys are using their "mind over matter skills" too.  Prescott may have wanted to come off as positive and motivated, but his statements fall more in line with the word "oblivious". The Cowboys need major changes. They made one with their coach, but a whole lot more needs to happen before the Cowboys are "very close" to any championships.

What Is A Day Like In Texas Prisons? A View From Both Sides Of The Bars

Have you ever wondered what life inside a Texas prison is really like? I asked friends who are correction officers and folks who have volunteered at jails. I also asked former inmates, and browsed forums and articles with current and former inmates. Put all together, it paints what I hope is a fairly accurate picture of daily prison life in Texas.
