Texas Leads the Nation in Job Creation

Recently, on my radio show I shared the great news about Texas being the #1 job creator in the nation. If you live in Texas or you're coming to Texas be aware of one thing, I tell this to everyone, "We are not afraid to work in the Lone Star State." I'm  happy to share once again Texas Governor Greg Abbott has just released the October numbers from the Workforce Commission. I will add that I'm not the least bit surprised because as I travel across the Big Country, I see "We're Hiring" signs all over the state, from local grocery stores and convenience stores to Hendrick Hospital. If you’re looking for work in Texas, you've come to  the right state

Record-Breaking Employment Data

The latest October employment data from the Texas Workforce Commission confirms what many of us already know: Texas grows jobs faster than the U.S. as a whole. Over the past year, Texas added 274,600 nonfarm jobs, setting a new record for the number of Texans working at 14,858,700. Our labor force also hit an all-time high of 15,497,100.

Governor Greg Abbott attributes this incredible growth to Texas’ business-friendly environment and strategic investments in workforce development. “Texas grows jobs at a faster annual rate than the U.S. because Texas moves at the speed of business,” said Governor Abbott. He highlighted the importance of skills training programs, which serve over four million Texans each year, ensuring our workforce is ready for high-demand, good-paying jobs.

Why Texas Stands Out

Under Governor Abbott’s leadership, Texas has added more than 2.4 million jobs, reinforcing its reputation as America’s jobs engine. With industries like Financial Activities leading the way, adding 6,200 jobs in October alone, and strong growth in Leisure and Hospitality, Information, and Manufacturing, our state continues to outperform national trends.

Recognition for Business Climate

What’s more, Texas was recently named the Top Business Climate in the nation by Site Selection magazine for the second consecutive year. This recognition highlights the entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of Texans, as well as our state’s commitment to removing regulatory roadblocks that hinder growth.

Opportunities Abound in West Texas

Here in the Big Country, job opportunities are everywhere. Whether you’re browsing listings on the Texas Workforce Commission’s online job board or checking out local Workforce Solutions offices, there’s a position waiting for you. As Governor Abbott says, "We will build a bigger, better Texas for all."

Building a Brighter Future

I’m proud to be part of a state that leads the way in creating opportunities. From the oilfields to our small town Mom & Pops, the hardworking people of West Texas are the backbone of this economic success. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career, Texas has the tools, training, and opportunities to make it happen. Let’s continue building a brighter future together.
