If you spent any time in Texas, you probably heard some big-hearted bikers who roll by the name Guardians of the Children. I had Venom and Bones from the Abilene Chapter in for a conversation that mixed heart, horsepower, and a little common-sense road wisdom as spring creeps into West Texas.

These aren’t just leather jackets and loud pipes; these are folks who ride hard for kids who’ve been abused, neglected, or forgotten. Guardians of the Children is a national organization, but the Abilene chapter keeps the boots-on-the-ground work local, showing up for families, advocating for children, and making sure no kid feels alone in the Big Country.

What’s Coming Up in Abilene

We talked about one of their upcoming fundraisers that’s equal parts wholesome and hilarious: a bake sale at the Gun & Knife Show in March. Yes, big dudes, big bikes, and… brownies. Don’t overthink it, just buy some baked goods and help a kid.

Spring Riding Season: Look Twice, Save A Life

With nicer weather on the way in Texas, Venom and Bones also had a timely reminder for drivers and riders alike. More motorcycles will be on the road, which means: double-check blind spots, don’t tailgate, and for riders, gear up, ride smart, and keep your head on a swivel. Sunshine is great… pavement is not.
