Tour de Gap Helps Fill Healthcare Gaps Across the Big Country
When most people hear "Tour de Gap," they probably think about bicycles, hills, and maybe questioning their life choices halfway through a 100K ride.
But after sitting down with Brady from the Presbyterian Medical Care Mission (PMCM) and Jim from Bike Town, I learned there's a whole lot more to this event than turning pedals.
Check out our full interview below.

Every Mile Helps Somebody
The Tour de Gap rolls into Buffalo Gap on July 25, giving riders the chance to tackle 11-mile, 50K, or 100K routes through some of the prettiest scenery in the Big Country.
Sure, it's a great excuse to get outside, challenge yourself, and maybe dust off that bicycle that's been hanging in the garage for a few years.
But the real purpose is helping people right here at home.
Helping Neighbors Across the Big Country
PMCM has been serving low-income and uninsured adults since 1983, providing affordable healthcare services to those who might otherwise go without. From primary care and prescription assistance to managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, the organization fills a critical need in our community.
And the numbers are impressive.
PMCM has helped more than 50,000 patients over the years and continues to impact lives across the Big Country every day.
Why This Ride Matters
I've already talked about how the Tour de Gap might be the perfect excuse for adults to rediscover the joy of riding a bike. After talking with Brady, I realized it's also something else. It's neighbors helping neighbors.
It's a community coming together to support local healthcare.
