Garbage’s Shirley Manson the Target of Twitter Stalker

While reviews have been mixed for Garbage‘s latest album, ‘Not Your Kind of People,’ one deranged fan has taken things a little too far in expressing his displeasure. Unfortunately for Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson, most of the hate is directed at her.

According to Spinner, a Twitter user going by the handle of @Gunn2urhead has been harassing the members of Garbage since mid-May. In a series of tweets, @Gunn2urhead has accused Manson of witchcraft and telepathy, claiming the Scottish native is messing with his mind. Things got even more disturbing when the cyberstalker started to post death threats. “IM GONNA KILL U B—H!!!!!!!” read one of @Gunn2urhead’s tweets.

Garbage decided enough was enough, and the band’s manager, Paul Kremen, contacted LAPD about the harassment. Police were granted a search warrant on May 30 and requested any information on @Gunn2urhead from Twitter executives.

“[Manson] stated that she is in great fear for her and her family’s safety due to the nature of the threats, the sheer volume of them and the ‘crazy’ sounding messages being posted towards her,” the warrant reads. “She stated she has never had anything like this on this level occur to her and she is very frightened and wants the threats to be investigated fully.”

The individual tweeting as @Gunn2urhead has stopped posting on the social networking site since June 21, but authorities are still looking into the matter.
