First of all, I am not a fan of door to door sales people.  There are several reasons, including the fact that Ijust  feel they invade my privacy.  If I wanted something, I have internet access, a phone, and a car so I have plenty of resources to obtain what it is I need. I mean,  If I needed someone to come to my door for any reason to sell me something, I feel I should be the one that calls them out.  I may be being harsh and if you happen to be one of these people, I apologize if i offend you, but that is just the way I feel.  I am always nice to them unless, of course, they keep pushing me.  In that case, I am not so nice.

Another reason I am not a fan of door to door sales peeps is because you just never know if they are legit.  I mean anybody can make a name tag, ya know?  Maybe I'm being too skeptical?

My case and point.

The Better Business Bureau in Abilene are asking the public to help them identify a fake door to door salesman claiming to work for First Alarm.  Problem is, First Alarm are saying that they do not solicit door to door and that the person in question is a fake.  A lot of times, these type of criminals are either trying to "case the joint" or just simply sell you something you think you're getting, take your money, and you never hear from them again.

It is important that if anybody comes to your door to sell you anything, make sure they are who they are by asking questions, asking for their I.D or even call the BBB.

So, be on the lookout for an imposter trying to sell alarm systmes from First Alarm.  If you have any information on this individual, like desription or vehicle description, contact the BBB at 691-1533 or simply contact the Abilene Police Department.
