Why Abilene Locals Keep Heading to This Pumpkin Patch in Clyde Every Fall
Every October in Texas, my wife and I head out to Denton Valley Farms near Clyde and even though the “kids” are grown, we’re still out there acting like we’re on a class field trip. And honestly? It’s worth it every time.
Pumpkins, Beer, and Haunted Fun
This place has everything: a massive pumpkin patch, a haunted forest, hayrides, and even a petting zoo. It’s the perfect mix of family fun and “I might need a beer after that haunted trail.” Luckily, they serve both beer and wine now, as you'll see in the gallery below, so you can unwind after getting chased by some creepy dude with 27 eyes.
Check out the gallery below for proof: pumpkins, beer, spooky characters, and maybe me looking slightly terrified…with beer in hand.

Why We Keep Going Back
It’s just a quick drive from Abilene here in Texas, but it feels like a full-blown fall escape. You can spend the day picking pumpkins and taking photos, then stick around for the haunted forest once the sun goes down. There’s food, drinks, live music on some nights, and that perfect mix of small-town charm and spooky fun.

We laughed, we screamed, we argued over which pumpkin was “the one,” and ended the night sipping cold drinks under string lights while bats (or maybe just big moths) flew overhead. Denton Valley Farms isn’t just for little kids; it’s for anyone who still loves a little magic (and mischief) in October.
