Fans clamoring for new material from the Dave Matthews Band have plenty to be excited about. The group revealed details for their new album, ‘Away From the World,’ and have been playing songs from the upcoming disc at concerts. Most recently, Dave Matthews Band performed their new song ‘The Riff.’

DMB played two consecutive shows at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, N.J. this week. As Jam Bands reports, the outfit performed a few songs off of ‘Away From the World’ during Wednesday night’s (June 27) show, including ‘Gaucho,’ ‘If Only,’ ‘Mercy’ and ‘Sweet.’ They decided to include one more new tune in ‘The Riff,’ which was captured by a fan in a high quality clip, seen below.

‘The Riff’ possesses the unmistakable Dave Matthews Band sound, starting off acoustically with the band’s namesake leader. “Please don’t leave me baby, please don’t leave me yeeaahh,” Matthews pleads. The tempo gets kicked up a notch after the two-minute mark and continues to alternate throughout the song. The live crowd in the Susquehanna Bank Center seemed to have given their approval of ‘The Riff,’ judging by their response.

‘Away From the World’ is Dave Matthews Band’s eighth studio album, which is due out September 11. Listen to the first single from the record, ‘Mercy,’ and read our official review of the song here.
