Chaz Attempts to Break Johnny Rabb’s World Record for Most Drum Beats in a Minute at Ripley’s Believe it or Not in San Antonio

On a recent trip to San Antonio, I was checking out 'Ripley's Believe It Or Not' when I saw an old record held by Johnny Rabb for the most drum beats in a minute. Ripley's had a drum set up so that anybody could try to beat that record. So, I grabbed the sticks and gave it my best shot which I captured on my iPhone. I actually didn't do too bad.

Now, first, I got to tell you that Johnny's record of 1,071 drumbeats in a minute has since been beaten by Mike Mangini (the Dream Theater drummer I mention in the video) and more recently by Tom Grosset with 1,208.

My goal, was just to beat Johnny's record and I don't think I did a bad job by getting 949 strokes to come within 122 strokes of that record. The video you are about to watch was my 6th and final attempt. If I had tried any more times, my arms would have fallen off.
