Holy crap…what a night.

If you were anywhere near the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Abilene, Texas, last night, you probably heard it: screaming guitars, crowd chants, and the unmistakable sound of arena rock echoing through a 96-year-old Texas landmark.

From the second the lights dropped, the place was rocking. We’re talking massive guitar solos, smoke, lasers, and the kind of swagger that made the 70s and 80s the undisputed golden age of rock.

And yes…there were costumes.

“Angus Young” hit the stage rocking the iconic schoolboy outfit, “Eddie Van Halen” absolutely shredded, and at one point, "Ozzy Osbourne" himself seemed to appear to send the crowd into another level of madness.

It felt less like a concert and more like someone filmed a two-hour music video full of arena rock chaos.

One of the coolest parts of the night? The setting. The Paramount Theatre, now 96 years old, is already one of the most beautiful venues in Texas. When you pack it with lasers, smoke, and screaming guitar solos, it suddenly feels like you’ve stepped into a vintage rock documentary.

Luckily, we captured a bunch of the action. Between photos from me, some of my coworkers, and a few awesome shots from listeners, we’ve got a full gallery of the night. That Arena Rock Show turned Abilene into one giant head-banging time machine.

A Night of Hits That Had Abilene Singing Loud

Every song they ripped into was a hit. These were the kind of songs where everybody in the building knows every word. And judging by my throat today, apparently I did too. My voice is shot!

I was belting out lyrics right along with the crowd, and by the end of the night, my voice was just about shot, which honestly feels like the proper price to pay for a night of arena rock glory.

Historic walls…modern rock insanity. What a great night of rock in Abilene!
