In what might be the most Texas “missed connection” of the summer, an Abilene woman has taken to Facebook in search of a mystery man she locked eyes with at the DK convenience store on Catclaw Drive.

The post, which has now made its rounds in local groups, reads like someone bottled up a country love song, shook it up with sweet tea, and poured it out on Facebook.

You bought four snuff cans... same brand as my dad, which gave me a weirdly charming moment of déjà vu.

The mystery man was driving a work truck labeled “DxP,” and the whole non-encounter happened around 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 5th.

Is It Love, a Debt, or Just a Really Good Story?

Here’s where things get intriguing. The woman admits they made eye contact and that she “felt like maybe, just maybe you were wondering if you should say something too.” But he didn’t. He grabbed his snuff and bailed. So now she’s shooting her shot “into the Texas sunset” via Facebook.

Whether she’s looking for a date, a drinking buddy, or someone who accidentally swiped her lottery ticket is unclear. What is clear is that she has guts and at least a few hundred locals cheering her on.

Facebook Court Is In Session

As one might expect, the comments lit up like firecrackers over the Fourth of July weekend.

If you find him and he has a brother who buys the same snuff, send him my way.

Could It Be You?

If you know a guy who drives a DxP truck, loves his dip, and maybe locked eyes with destiny at a DK, tag him. Or at the very least, tell him he’s gone semi-viral in the most wholesome, small-town way possible.

Is This Real Life or a Buc-ee’s Fever Dream?

Look, I’ll be honest, I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn’t some kind of elaborate joke or AI-generated love story. With all the wild stuff people post on Facebook these days,  missing goats, mystery potholes, fake giveaways, this one teeters right on the edge of “too perfectly random to be real.”

But hey, it’s Abilene. Stranger things have definitely happened in Texas.
