Three Game of Thrones actors channeled their BDE and believed in themselves enough to nominate their work in the show for an Emmy. And it paid off. We've all had those moments. When we know the quality of our work, but the higher-ups at your employer don't recognize your greatness. Most just ignore the situation, complain about it, or maybe think they didn't do as well as they thought. But these three Game of Thrones actors decided to take a leap of faith regarding their work on the last season of the show. They knew the high quality of their work, the blood, sweat, and tears they put into the season and that they did an incredible job.

Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), and Carice van Houten (the Red Woman) all self-submitted for this year's Emmys for their work in the final season fo Game of Thrones. Many don't know, but every nomination for the Emmy's comes with a nomination fee of $225 for an individual and these three spent the best $225 of their lives. At least up to this point. Game of Thrones earned an astounding 32 nominations, the most of any program's one season. While HBO and Game of Thrones nominated at least 7 actors for their performance in this season's show, but Christie, Allen and van Houten all were left out. Rather than sit back and accept this decision, the three actors self-submitted for the Emmys. These actors believed in themselves and their work, and knew their worth. Regardless of what others think, they knew they had a strong season under their belt, that others would also acknowledge as a great performance.

If this year's Emmys nominations teach the average person anything, it is to believe in themselves. Whether its in your personal art, career, or even acting in a major HBO show, you need to believe in yourself. Giving your all into your craft can be exhilarating, and you shouldn't second guess yourself. Know your worth and if you put everything you had into something, be proud of it. Be proud of all your effort and sacrifices you've made. Many on social media have started sharing their stories of times they nominated themselves for awards, put themselves into the running for promotions or applied for jobs they felt they  were ready for. It's inspiring to see so many people sharing how they took a leap of faith and it paid off.
