Former Abilene High Eagle star, Herschel Sims, has transferred from Oklahoma State University to another school after being dismissed from the team for violating team rules. Sims has now transferred from OSU to Lamar University which he announced on his Facebook page.  The school is located in Beaumont Texas.

Sim was dismissed from OSU, by coach Mike Gundy, for violating team rules which turned out to allegedly forging bank slips so that he could withdraw money from a teammates bank account.  Sims was charged with two felony accounts of forgery which he has plead not guilty to.  He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday July 1th) at the Payne County Courthouse.

Sims was an outstanding running back for the Abilene High Eagles and was expected to do well at Oklahoma State.  As a true freshman, he rushed for 242 yards on 31 carries for 2 touchdowns.  He was third on the depth chart for the Cowboys.

Ironically, Lamar University will play Oklahoma State in 2013.
