ESPN is reporting that former Abilene High Eagle standout, Herschel Sims was dismissed by Oklahoma State for violating team rules.

Last Updated: June 1st 6pm

The dismissal comes a day after a teammate reported $700 missing from his bank account.  On May 18, OSU linebacker Jeremiah Tshimanga reported that his ID was stolen and used to withdraw money from his  bank account.  After an investigation, it was determined that the suspect was Herschel Sims.

However, Sims former coach at Abilene High, Steve Warren said that he talked to Sims and it was a misunderstanding.

"Based on what Herschel told me, there has been some miscommunication between him and his teammate,” Warren told The Tulsa World. “At the same time, he indicated to me that he made a mistake in the way he handled that situation, the way he went about it with his teammate and things like that.

So far, no charges or arrests have been made and the investigation continues.

Sims, who was third on the depth chart last season, was a top recruit for the Cowboys for the 2011 class.  Last season, he carried the ball 31 times for 242 yards and two touchdowns.
