Chris Jericho To Host Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards

Metal musician, wrestler and ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant Chris Jericho will be hosting this year’s Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards.

This year marks the tenth incarnation of the Golden Gods, and will be held June 11 at the indigO2 in London. More bands and special guests will be announced, but so far it has been revealed that Anthrax and Biohazard will be among the performers at the awards show.

More than a dozen awards will be handed out in categories such as Best New Band, Best Underground Band, Dimebag Darrell Shredder, Riff Lord, Icon, Album Of The Year and of course, The Golden God. There will be a pre-show boat party the night before the awards, and Jericho’s band Fozzy will play along with Shadows Fall and Attica Rage.

Jericho will also be hosting the Revolver Golden God Awards in Los Angeles on April 11 that will include performances by Korn, Trivium, Marilyn Manson, Evanescence and Sixx: A.M.

Fozzy is working on a new CD to be released later this year — their follow-up to 2010′s ‘Chasing The Grail.’
