The Plowboy Mud Bogs Return to Roscoe Texas Saturday, July 5th

Roscoe Mud Bog organizers are getting down and dirty to raise money for Roscoe's Little League Association and the Roscoe High School Cheerleaders. Saturday July 5th, the Roscoe little league baseball field is where the annual "Roscoe Plowboy Mud Bog" take place. Mud bog organizer Felix Pantoja says "this year, I anticipate about 2500 spectators and over 50 participants."

The Annual Hope and Help Ministries Health Fair, Blood and Donor Drive is June 28th

About 10 years ago, Hope and Help Ministries Founder Dale Morrison was given a bone marrow transplant because he had cancer. On Saturday, June 28th at the Annual Hope and Help Ministries Health Fair and Donor Drive, Dale will meet his bone marrow donor for the first time. The event will take place at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church starting at 8:00am. The health fair includes a blood donation drive, an organ donor drive and blood screening.

The “Ghost of the Bayou” a Rare 6 Foot Albino Alligator Visits the Abilene Zoo

A very rare six foot albino alligator known as the "Ghost of the Bayou" has made the Abilene Zoo it's temporary home. Armored Up SUV’s for 2014 From Dartz and Mercedes-Benz Look Like Military Vehicles

I believe both Latvia's Dartz Motorz and Germany's Mercedes-Benz are determined to change the way we look at SUV's. Mercedes-Benz recently released their G63 AMG 6x6 armored-up SUV (inspired by the MRAP as seen in the movie Die Hard 5).  This vehicle looks like a six-wheeled militarized Humvee on steroids and can take on small arms fire and IED's. Both companies claim their 11 thousand plus pound vehicles can keep their passengers safe. The price tag for feeling safe is rumored to be around 3.3 million dollars for the newest model. A new Abilene ordinance no longer allows "any on the street" collecting. Abilene and Dyess Firefighters are readjusting how they will operate their "MDA Fill the Boot Campaign." Abilene Firefighter and event organizer John Brunett said "due to the new city ordinance, we've changed locations and we will not be collecting on the streets for the first time in over 20 years."
