West Texas VA Launches Flu Shot Clinics to Protect Veterans This Fall
Flu season is right around the corner in Texas, and for Veterans, getting protected isn’t optional, it’s one of the best defenses they’ve got.. Many of our Vets already deal with health conditions that make them more vulnerable to serious flu complications.
A simple flu shot can be the difference between a healthy season and weeks of fighting off an illness that could’ve been avoided.
Convenient Clinics Across West Texas
The West Texas VA has officially kicked off its annual flu shot campaign with dedicated clinics running through October. Veterans can walk into any WTVAHCS location during normal operating hours, but the clinics are set up to be quick and convenient. So, there are no long waits, no extra hassle.

Amy Grant, a registered nurse at the West Texas VA Health Care System (WTVAHCS), put it best: “Prevention is always better than treatment, and just a few minutes today can help protect Veterans and their loved ones all season long.” (WTVAHCS)
Where to Go and How to Learn More
These clinics are available at all six WTVAHCS facilities, including Big Spring, Abilene, Fort Stockton, San Angelo, Odessa, and Hobbs, New Mexico. It’s one more way the VA is working to make health care simple and accessible for those who served.
Veterans can check schedules on Facebook at @WestTexasVA or call 432-263-7361 for more details.
So, if you’re a Veteran in Texas or know someone who is, let them know that this is the season to roll up that sleeve. It’s a quick step that helps protect you, your family, and your brothers and sisters in arms.
