Watch Black Label Society’s Unlucky Grim Reaper in ‘A Love Unreal’ Video Clip
Black Label Society have released a video for their latest single, "A Love Unreal," pulled from their new LP, Grimmest Hits, which came out last month (Jan. 18). The clip was directed by long-time collaborating director Justin Reich and depicts the album's mascot, a hapless grim reaper, having a rough day.
First, our favorite scythe-wielding entity is flipped off by his neighbor. He's then pulled over by the police on the way to his first landscaping job of the day, where a dog chases him and makes off with his arm (it's a bone - get it?). Retreating to the confines of a local cemetery where he looks to strum a guitar, the grim reaper is chased off by the groundskeeper.
The shenanigans continue when he finds a love interest at a local convenience store, a woman who then waves to him while he's grilling up a steak in his yard. Unfortunately, when reciprocating, his arm catches on fire. Later, after running into the heroine in a laundromat, he sees her again at an open mic night, but she is on the arm of another man. How does it turn out? Check out the video above to see if the angel of death's luck takes a turn for the better.
Grimmest Hits is the 10th Black Label Society album, and in a recent interview with Loudwire which can be seen below, band leader Zakk Wylde talks about the riffs on the record as well as what "A Love Unreal" is truly about. And all we can say is it involves an unruly burrito.
Black Label Society is currently winding down a tour with Corrosion of Conformity, performing tonight (Feb. 20) in Portland, Ore. at the Roseland Theater. There are still a few chances to catch them, and the remaining dates can be found here. When that run ends, Wylde will continue on with Ozzy Osbourne as the Prince of Darkness embarks on his lengthy No More Tours 2 farewell trek beginning with the Jacksonville, Fla. Welcome to Rockville festival in late April.
