The 42nd Annual Tour de Gap rolls out under the shade of century-old live oaks in Buffalo Gap, Texas, just south of Abilene. Whether you’re a casual cruiser or a chain‑grease‑loving road warrior, there's a route with your name on it, and it’s all for a very good cause.

To get the inside scoop, I sat down with Brady from Presbyterian Medical Care Mission, the nonprofit that benefits from this ride, and Jim from Bike Town. It’s not just about mastering the Tour de Gap, it’s about heart. Proceeds from this year’s ride will support Presbyterian Medical Care Mission (PMCM), the nonprofit clinic that’s been serving low-income and uninsured adults across Taylor County and beyond since 1983. Hundreds of cyclists are expected to saddle up for the cause.

Routes, Registration & Raffle Shenanigans

Still haven’t signed up? No sweat, you’ve got options. Register online at tourdegap.com, or swing by BikeTown in Abilene Friday afternoon, or hit the Old Settlers’ Pavilion early on Saturday.

Early birds snag a $55 rate (includes lunch), rising to $65 on ride day. Kids 14 & under ride free with a registered adult. Plus, you can score some swag with their raffle. So, ride hard, and possibly win something fun when you finish.

There’s still time to register. So, bring your wheels, your energy, and maybe a spare tube. Let’s pedal through the Texas hills, do good for our neighbors, and make a weekend of it. See you under those oaks!
