Benefit Concert for Tony Tate Saturday at the Red Dirt Pavilion
A Cooper High football legend and a friend to many, Tony Tate, will benefit from a concert held at the Buffalo Gap 'Red Dirt Pavilion' this Saturday.
Tony has had multiple cornea surgeries, that has affected his eyesight, and desperately needs our help to cover the growing medical expenses.
I didn't know Tony as the football legend, I knew him as friend and roommate.
When I moved to Abilene, he (and his other roommates) generously let me stay with them until I got a place of my own. I've known Tony as one of the most caring and loyal friends anyone could have. His football legacy, though, I quickly learned about from everyone around him. We couldn't go anywhere without people pointing out Tony and coming in for a big hug.
The event will take place from 5pm-Midnight, under the stars, at the beautiful Red Dirt Pavilion. The cover charge, at the gate, is any size donation for Tony. There will also be a $10 cooler charge - NO GLASS.
100% of the proceeds go directly to Tony Tate.
There will be tons of live music featuring:
- Collin Tate
- South of Mayhem
- Kelly Down Band
- Group Therapy
- Garrett Bryan and the Traveling City Committee.
If you're not able to make it out, please consider donating to Tony here.
Oh yeah, bring a lawn chair too.
