The Feds Are Taking Your Free Porn – the Great Porncalypse
The FCC voted to repeal Net Neutrality and your access to free porn might take the biggest hit.
While the Democrats may "want to take your guns", the Republicans want you to stop "playing with your gun". Thanks to the party-line (3-2) vote on repealing Net Neutrality, porn sites (among others) will be the biggest victims.
But first, let's look at what happens now that net neutrality will be extinct. To put it in simple terms, your internet service providers will have the ability to limit content that may compete with their own. For example, say you have AT&T and they decide to create content similar Netflix - well, AT&T may limit said Netflix service at your house or on your phone.
Now, how does that apply to your porn? Well, according to Corey Price, VP of Pornhub, "Without [net neutrality], the cable and wireless companies that control internet access will have unfair power to pick winners and losers in the market". If your ISP doesn't like porn, then consider yourself porn-free now.
You see, Net Neutrality ensures that all data on the interwebs is treated equally. Now that it has been repealed, you may risk losing your free porn.
But, all is not lost (just yet) as advocacy groups, and others, are set to sue the FCC over the vote. Finally, Congress actually has the power to reverse said ruling. The bright side to that is we all know that members of Congress are a bunch of pervs that would suffer the most without their access to porn.
