If you’re at home, head to the lowest level possible. Best options:

Basement or storm shelter (rare in Texas, I know)
Interior room with no windows
Bathroom, closet, or hallway
Put as many walls between you and the outside as possible
Flying debris is the biggest killer, so cover your head with pillows, blankets, or a mattress if you can.
Also: Do NOT waste time opening windows. That old myth won’t save your house; it just wastes precious seconds.
