Texas Picks Its Favorite Charlie Brown Special But I’m Not Buying It
If there’s one thing Texans love, besides football, brisket, and arguing about the Dallas Cowboys…wait, where was I going with this? Oh yeah, we also like a good Charlie Brown holiday special.
Every year, millions of us rewatch the Peanuts classics, from the pumpkin-patch greatness of Halloween to the turkey-time chaos of Thanksgiving to the cozy nostalgia of Christmas. But of all these classic specials, which special is the favorite in Texas?
According to a new survey from High Risk Pay, Texas has officially picked its favorite… but do we agree with it?

Texas Says Turkey, But I Say Christmas
According to a survey by High Risk Pay, Texans (along with New Yorkers and several other states) rank A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving as the top holiday special. That means the gang sitting down for a humble feast resonates more than trick-or-treating or tinsel. Across the country, Thanksgiving dominates as the most-searched Charlie Brown special in 17 states.
I'm not sure I agree with these results.
Texas may vote for Thanksgiving, but I’m throwing my Santa hat into A Charlie Brown Christmas. It’s warm, it’s timeless, and that Vince Guaraldi soundtrack still slaps harder than half the holiday playlists out there. The tiny tree, Linus’s speech, and Charlie Brown trying to figure out the true meaning of the season, it hits different. Christmas wins for me every time.

But Wait… Who’s the Favorite Character?
The same survey shows Charlie Brown himself is America’s favorite Peanuts character. Look, I get it. He’s lovable, he’s awkward, he’s trying his best. I could totally relate in middle school. But I still can’t roll with this one. Snoopy is the GOAT. The dude turns his doghouse into a fighter plane. He dances like nobody’s watching. He’s effortlessly cool. Team Snoopy forever.
In the end, Texas may crown Thanksgiving and America may ride for Charlie Brown, but I’m sticking with Snoopy and the Christmas classic. That’s the beauty of Peanuts because you can’t really go wrong.
