A few weeks ago we got the horrible news that Disney/Marvel had wanted to renegotiate the deal for Spider-Man. This blew up in Disney's face big time because Sony basically said no.

This really sucked because the Disney and Marvel had been moving in the direction of making Spider-Man the new Iron-Man. The sort of central figure in the next big saga of the MCU. If Spider-Man's out, that's throws a serious cog in the whole situation.

But, it is time to breathe easy fellow nerds. Marvel and Sony have settled their differences. MCU mastermind Kevin Feige said  in a joint announcement:

I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.

Interesting that Feige mentions Sony having their own Spidey-verse. But who cares, this is all the news we needed.
