You see them dangling all over town in all of their glory in different colors. Some people are offended by them, while others (including myself) laugh hysterically. I'm talking about "truck nuts". Should they be illegal or not? A town in South Carolina thinks so.

"Truck Nuts" or "Bumper Nuts" (there are a ton of different things to call them) are basically fake bull testicles that people put on their trucks to dangle freely.

Virginia Tice, from Bonneau, South Carolina, pulled into a store, with the fake bull testicles on her truck, to get some gas. That's when the police chief, Franco Fuda, pulled up and told her to take them off. She refused to do so and was promptly issued a citation for over $450 saying she violated a state obscene bumper sticker law.

Apparently, the law states:

"A sticker, decal, emblem, or device is indecent … in a patently offensive way, as determined by contemporary community standards, sexual acts, excretory functions, or parts of the human body."

Virginia decided to fight the citation in court, though the police chief is all about it as well, and is pushing to make them illegal. The case goes to trial next month making it a freedom of speech type debate.

My question is, should they be illegal? Personally, the first time I saw a pair, I laughed until I cried. Now, I see them and don't think they are that big of a deal and, in fact, don't really pay much attention to them.

I asked my wife this question and her response was, "Doesn't offend me, but it just reminds me about how ugly a man's junk is". I love my wife.

So, what do you think. Are truck nuts just being given a hard time? Should they be illegal? Leave your comments below.
