Pig Destroyer Debut New Song at Loudwire x CLRVYNT Showcase, Perform ‘Gravedancer’ For First Time in 15 Years
At Loudwire + CLRVYNT’s recent showcase in Austin, Texas, grindcore legends Pig Destroyer debuted a new song! A fan just uploaded a clip from the front of the pit, so check it out above.
Loudwire + CLRVYNT’s showcase was the sickest bill of the busy weekend, featuring two nights of free music from killer bands. Giraffe Tongue Orchestra and God Mother both played their first-ever U.S. gigs on March 17, with Primitive Weapons rounding out the night. March 18 brought even more metal bands as Power Trip headlined a home state show with Pig Destroyer, Thou, Fister and Ringworm.
Draped in purple light, Pig Destroyer crushed the packed Sunset Room. “We plan on putting out a new album before we all die… hopefully,” vocalist J.R. Hayes told the crowd. “We’re gonna do a new one for you guys. We’ve never played this one before, so we hope you all like it.”
The new cut sounds incredibly mean, with guitarist Scott Hull laying on some of his thickest grooves to date. Pig Destroyer also surprised fans by ending their set with “Gravedancer,” marking the first time the band had performed the Prowler in the Yard cut in roughly 15 years.
