Paraplegic Woman Walks Again Thanks to Robotic Exoskeleton [VIDEO]
Usually when we hear the words “robot exoskeleton,” we think of science fiction. But for Amanda Boxtel, a woman who was paralyzed from the waist down in a skiing accident 20 years ago, an amazing powered exoskeleton has given her newfound mobility.
After her skiing accident in 1992, Boxtel thought she would never walk again. But the wearable device, which supports her torso and powers her legs, allows the 43-year-old to move around on her own for the first time.
Boxtel called the robotic suit “life-changing” and looks forward to a time when she’ll be able to slow dance again. Watch her uplifting story below.
