Mayor Williams Has Decided to Reduce Public Gatherings to 50
Abilene Mayor Anthony Williams announced today that the city is reducing the amount of people permitted in a public gathering to just 50. That change goes into effect at 8pm on Sunday night.
City Manager Robert Hanna echoed the Mayor's statement and added that when Taylor County gets a positive test result, for coronavirus, then that number will reduce to 10.
There are a few exemptions that include grocery stores, shopping malls, or other retail establishments where large numbers of people may be present but is unusual for them to be within arm's length for extended periods of time. Also under the exempt list are office/residential spaces and hospitals and medical offices and facilities.
