Texas’ New Tilt Coaster Revealed – 130 Feet Tall

(Austin, Texas) Texas is becoming a hotspot for amusement parks and roller coasters. One of the latest roller coasters to open in Texas is at a new amusement park outside of Austin. COTALAND will be opening its new 130-foot high tilt coaster Circuit Breaker this weekend, so Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix race attendees can be among the first to ride a very unique and thrill-seeking roller coaster.

Although the tilt coaster debuts this weekend for special guests, full park opening is scheduled for 2026. The park is snuggled up against the race track of the Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) off of Hwy 130 southeast of Austin. Once open, the park will feature two steel roller coasters, a drop tower, a log ride, a giant swing, smaller coasters, a Jeep safari ride, a carousel, and other 'flat rides' to entertain guests across Central Texas and beyond.

COTALAND’s Circuit Breaker: Tilt Coaster Specs

COTALAND's main attraction, Circuit Breaker, lifts riders 130 feet, pivots to a 90° tilt facing the ground, pauses, then releases the train. It then speeds through tunnels, dives, inversions, and more, reaching up to 60 mph.

Palindrome: A Coaster Over Roadways

COTALAND is close to completing its second major coaster, Palindrome, the first major roller coaster to pass over an active roadway. This coaster features a vertical lift and a vertical spike at the end. Riders will travel forward on this coaster, making their way up to the spike and feeling the sensation of free fall as the coaster plummets back down.

Once open, COTALAND will feature more than 30 rides and will be entertaining guests on weekends and weekdays following a 'school schedule' approach similar to Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington), Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and SeaWorld San Antonio

Texas 2026 Coaster Lineup: SeaWorld & Six Flags

For coaster enthusiasts, these aren't the only major roller coasters that will debut in 2026 in the Lone Star State. SeaWorld San Antonio announced it is adding an inverted family coaster to its impressive lineup. This coaster features an overhead track with riders being suspended beneath the track, and they will glide through the air like a barracuda in the water.

World Records Aimed at Six Flags’ Tormenta

Then there is Six Flags Over Texas with its 309-foot giga dive coaster Tormenta Rampaging Run coming in 2026. This will be the tallest, fastest, longest, first, and only giga dive coaster in the world. This new coaster is setting out to break six world records as Six Flags Over Texas celebrates its 65th season in 2026. Tormenta Rampaging Run will top out at 87 m.p.h., stand 309 feet tall, travel along 4199 feet of track, and give riders nearly 3 minutes of ride time.

Texas As A Coaster Destination

Texas is becoming a destination for roller coaster enthusiasts thanks to theme parks like Six Flags Over Texas, SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and COTALAND. Each of these parks will offer unique coasters. I, for one, can’t wait to ride them all.
