As of yesterday morning, June 18, 2023, 188,000 people were still without power in East Texas after massive storms tore through a number of towns, leading to all but empty grocery stores.

I came across a TikTok post two days ago by user @lifeonwileypage, that kind of blew my mind. I've never seen a Walmart this empty, not even during the height of the pandemic. It's a ghost town in there. There isn't a single item in the cooler sections of the store. A few shelf-stable items and baked goods are pretty much all you see in this Longview, Texas Walmart. It's almost creepy.

The woman that took the video seems to at least have a good sense of humor about it. She chuckles to herself, amazed by just how empty the store is. Take a look at the video below:

Count your blessings, guys! We've had some storms in West Texas lately, too, but nothing quite this bad. Very few stores were able to remain open after this storm, unless they had generators, and they are running low on food, gas, and other supplies. Not a good situation at all.

I also found a wild video of some people escaping the storm and taking shelter inside of a gas station that has gone viral. It was posted by TikTok user @whoisrip. You can see just how devastating and wild the storm was below in the video:

Stay safe out there, friends. It might be a good time to restock your pantries.
